I stumbled across this recipe for this beautiful rose apple pie on this website, it looked too pretty to pass up so I gave it a try. I used gala apples for this pie and put an extra teaspoon of cinnamon because I was afraid the taste wasn’t going to be sweet enough since gala apples aren’t as sweet as pink lady apples.
Turns out, it personally wasn’t sweet enough for me. Next time I think I’ll try using pink lady apples. I also decided to use my extra pie crust to make leaves on the sides and I just brushed water on it to make it stick. After I baked the pie, the leaves started falling off so I think I should have used egg wash instead. But this would look beautiful on the kitchen table!
It’s definitely not as hard as it looks!
